New Delhi, 23rd November, 2021 — Hughes Communications India Private Ltd. (HCIPL), a leading provider of broadband satellite and managed network services, and a majority- owned subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems, LLC (HUGHES), today announced that it has been awarded a managed network services contract from a leading oil and gas company. Under the contract, Hughes will deploy the HughesONTM software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) solution at 250 dealer sites across India, using best available broadband at each location, spanning DSL, cable, 4G wireless and satellite connectivity. Across the various access types, the managed SD-WAN deployment will deliver a consistent and secure user experience with built-in security and centralized management and control to enable applications such as customer Wi-Fi, point-of-sale transactions, digital signage and data analytics.

Using edge terminals with zero-touch provisioning along with remote gateways, Hughes has already connected the customer’s sites in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
In addition to serving retail petroleum customers across the U.S., Europe and Indonesia, Hughes powers solutions for India’s oil and gas segment at more than 25,000 locations, and recently automated retail networking for leading state-owned oil companies with the Hughes JUPITERTM satellite broadband system.
